Want to learn how to spin beautiful yarn? Join Lorna Ash from Shades of Ewe Fibreworks in this beginner spinning wheel class. Lorna will help you explore the joy that is hand spinning as you learn about:
· The parts of the spinning wheel and how to set it up
· Fibre preparations and how to select fibre for projects
· Wheel ratios
· How to operate a spinning wheel, and make your first yarns
· How to ply on a wheel
· Wheel maintenance
Materials: Participants will receive 50g of wool. You may bring your own spinning wheel if it is in good working condition, or borrow one for the day.
Class size: 4 people maximum
Skill level: It is recommended to take Lorna's “Beginner Spinning: Drop Spindle” workshop to get the most out of this class, but it is not required.
Class fee: $115 (includes 4 hours of instruction, materials, and use of a wheel for class). Shades of Ewe fibre will be available for purchase after class.
Scholarships: A limited number of $30 scholarships are available for this class. If a scholarship would help make it more affordable for you to learn to spin, enter the code SpinThisSpring when you register for class. No need to explain or make a special request.

Cancellation policy: Registration fees are refundable (minus a 10% admin fee) until 24 hours prior to class. No refunds are available within 24 hours of class. (If you are sick, please do not come to class; contact me to make alternate arrangements.)
