Robot pouch
Robot pouch
These charming robots might hold your notions or your charging cables... or they might take over the world. Still, who am I to suggest that it might be dangerous to knowingly adopt your robot overlord?
Handmade of vinyl, zipper mouths, and a variety of accessories, these robots are part of the Robot-A-Day project, straight from the twisted yet delightful brain of Erin Wilk. Yes, that's right: she set out to make a robot a day for an entire year. And then I think they expanded beyond that year and began to take over her house, or neighbourhood, or hometown.... Did I mention that they might be dangerous?
The robots stand about 5 to 5.5" tall, and are 3 to 3.5" square. That's roughly 14x7x8 cm, or approximately the perfect size to cradle in your hand as you gaze upon it with a mixture of fondness and concern for the future. Most of them have a heart, a shiny gold belly panel, and two eyes; one is a cyclops. Some have mustaches, one has giant eyebrows, and some have scarves. One poor bot has sweaty armpits ("Why so nervous?"); another has a broken heart and tears that make it slightly difficult to open its zipper mouth. (But then, you wouldn't want to stuff a crying robot with ibuprofen and band-aids in order to have first aid supplies sitting next to your computer, would you?) (Or maybe you would.)
