Dye lab

Dye lab is an experimental guided dyeing approach that allows you to work toward your dream yarn!  You come up with a concept that you want to dye-- a sweater that you want to make, a particular colour effect you want to play with, a colour scheme from a favourite photo-- and I'll help make it happen.  Dyeing experience is useful but not necessary, as long as you have a sense of curiosity and are interested in experimenting.

Class size: four people maximum

Class fee: The base price of $60 ($40 instruction fee + $20 materials) includes two hours of instruction and materials for dyeing one skein of merino yarn.  Two hours of additional dye time can be added if needed for your project ($20 per hour) and additional yarn is available for purchase (range of $15-25 per skein + tax, depending on yarn base). 

Consultation & final invoice: Marit will contact you prior to the class with information about the availability and prices of different yarn bases, and to arrange for a consultation about what you'd like to accomplish.  I'll provide you with an idea of the final cost at that time.  At the end of class, you'll pay in the studio for any dye time and/or yarn costs beyond the base price and will receive a receipt.

Cancellation policy: Registration fees are refundable (minus a 10% admin fee) until 24 hours prior to class.  No refunds are available within 24 hours of class.  (If you are sick, please do not come to class; contact me to make alternate arrangements.)
